What is an Invasive Species?

Invasive species are non-native plants, animals, insects, or diseases that cause harm to our local ecosystems, the economy, or human health. As one of the greatest threats to New York’s biodiversity, agriculture, and outdoor recreation, it is everyone’s responsibility to prevent their spread.
