2021 Request for Proposals

It is the intention of the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) to solicit proposals for invasive species projects in the region of the Long Island Invasive Species Management Area (LIISMA). The region includes Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau County, and Suffolk County in New York State. Those receiving this Request for Proposals (RFP) are referred to as “Vendor,” “Contractor,” or “Subcontractor.” Approved proposals will enable LIISMA partners to implement projects that advance collective goals and objectives for preventing the spread of invasive species. All proposals are subject to approval by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) Invasive Species Coordination Unit (ISCU) prior to being awarded a final subcontract. Subcontracts are subject to LINPI insurance requirements. The RFP is not a grant program.

RFPs are due COB February 22, 2021.

Note: The site list above details our priority sites for 2021, but we are accepting applications for any site on Long Island or Staten Island. There are several criteria that we are using to decide which RFP’s will be awarded; whether your site is on the list is just one consideration among many. All of these criteria can be found in the Application Guide.
